Greek style turkey skewers, or grilled zippers
Souvlaki (sliders), or meat skewers, is one of the most popular dishes of Greek cuisine. Sliders can be prepared from various types of meat - pork, beef or poultry. I propose a recipe for turkey fillet zippers served with horiatiki salad. Turkey souvlaki is made very quickly and without much work.
Turkey fillet (without skin) is low in unsaturated fat and low in sodium. Turkey meat is a source of vitamins D, B12, B3, B6, potassium, phosphorus and zinc. The great advantage is that turkey meat is very easy to prepare. There are many ways to prepare turkey. Suitable for sandwiches, salads, lunch and dinner. It is suitable for making soups and also delicious as a snack. Ingredients for 2 people
360 g turkey breast fillet
ground hot pepper
grated lemon peel
2 cloves of garlic
Preparation of souvlaki (skewers) . Cut the cleaned turkey breast fillet into even, thick cubes. Season the meat with salt, hot pepper, rosemary and Roman cumin. Add crushed garlic cloves, grated lemon peel, sprinkle with olive oil and mix. Then stuff the pieces of meat on skewers and let it rest for 15 minutes.
Preparation of Greek horiatiki salad . Cut vegetables: pepper into strips, tomato into pieces, cucumber into half-slices, onion into rings. Mix with oregano, olives, olive oil and vinegar.
Souvlaki grilling . Place the previously prepared skewers on the heated grill pan (if possible, in the garden grill). Bake evenly on each side. Next to it, grill the pita bread.
Put the salad on a plate and sprinkle with crushed feta cheese. Place ready-made skewers and pita bread next to it. Sprinkle the meat with olive oil mixed with lemon juice. Garnish with red onion rings and fresh oregano leaves.
